Biochar works by heating organic waste in the absence of oxygen, locking carbon into a stable, porous material instead of letting it decompose or burn back into the atmosphere. It's a simple idea with a long track record — and right now, one of the fastest-growing categories in the carbon removal market.

Biomass waste is collected

Sourced from sawmills, farms, and other producers sitting on residues they need to manage — often at very low or negative cost.

Heated without oxygen

State-of-the-art reactors process the material through pyrolysis — high heat, low oxygen, no combustion.

Carbon is locked in

The process removes CO₂ from the atmosphere and generates CDRs — a specific class of carbon credit tied to physical, verifiable removal.

The reactor powers itself

Reactors are fully self-sustaining, generating enough clean energy to run the facility — with surplus sold back to the grid.
